Amanda Swinhart is a Video Journalist for the Associated Press based in Vermont.

Most recently, Swinhart spent six years as a photojournalist at CNN based in Washington, D.C. where she covered Capitol Hill, the Supreme Court, the Pentagon, the State Department, and worked in the White House extensively, traveling with the president and vice president on foreign and domestic trips during the Trump and Biden administrations. Swinhart also covered breaking news and events across the country for the network.

Previously, Swinhart worked as a photojournalist at Fox and NBC affiliates WFXT and WHDH in Boston and ABC affiliate KCRG in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she covered a wide range of stories, including the Aaron Hernandez trials, 2015 Boston blizzard, 2016 presidential race, and Super Bowl 51.

Swinhart is a graduate of Boston University where she studied photojournalism and art history and completed internships as a photographer with the Boston Red Sox and Harvard Gazette.
